The reapers scythe swings swift and true
Oer the land and frosty dew To pierce the light of a warming soul And take with it whom this bell toll Warmth doth not leave this frozen field But chooses instead to linger veiled Stowed within the heartfelt cries Of grieving goddess mournful eyes A tearful rain seeps in the soil Of this wasteland, turf and toil To mend the fissure this loss hath paved And from this heath a life is saved Nick Rogers ---- It has been one year today since the death of Heath Ledger. This is an honorary portrait to commemorate this anniversary. I finished this piece back on the 12th, but for obvious reasons, I waited until today to post it. I wrote the poem the following day after being inspired by the music of Bob Dylan during the film "I'm Not There." Certain lines reference to Christopher Nolan's speech at the Golden Globes on Ledger's behalf. If you choose to write a critique, please include the poem in your analysis. Thank you. CommentsOne year?? It just can't be, it seems like it happened last month! Beautiful drawing.
