First off, I have to thank the wonderful `Cataclysm-X for dedicating her equally wonderful portrait of Jeff Buckley to me. Whether she had or not, the image was so beautiful and inspiring that it motivated me to rise from my lethargy and draw something new myself. So for that, I return that favor and dedicate this drawing to her with immense gratitude.

This is one of my favorites in a long while. I can't remember the last time I enjoyed drawing a portrait as much as I did here. Also, something unprecedented occurred in the making of this: for the first time, I enjoyed drawing hair; the flowing locks and the contrast between light and dark, it was really fun.

I wanted to draw something with a certain movement and emotion to it. I found this photo and took to it right away. Both model and photographer are fellow deviants here, and I thank them for their collaboration in making the reference.

The title and lyrics are from a Robert Plant song. I felt quoting Plant would be an appropriate response to the Jeff Buckley image that inspired it; I label the pair as two of the most beautiful and passionate singers of recent history.
