Algren: "He wasn't a good General. He was arrogant and foolhardy. And he got massacred because he took a single battalion against 2,000 angry Indians." Katsumoto: "2,000 Indians? How many men for Custer?" Algren: "211" Katsumoto: "I like this General Custer."

Higen: "Will you fight the white men, too?" Algren: "If they come here, yes." Higen: "Why?" Algren: "Because they come to destroy what I have come to love."
I love that part in the movie, and Hans Zimmer's music in that spot is just brilliant.
Ujio: "He is shamed in defeat. He should kill himself." Katsumoto: "That is not their custom." Ujio: "Then...I will kill him."
Ujio is my favorite character. He's such a bad ass. And I agree fully about Hans Zimmer. I have the entire soundtrack including the bonus track. It's such a wonderfully epic score.

Algren: "What do you want?" Katsumoto: "To know my enemy." Algren: "I've seen what you do to your enemies." Katsumoto: "Warriors in your country do not kill?" Algren: "They don't cut the heads off defeated, kneeling men." Katsumoto: "General Hasegawa asked me to help him end his life. A samurai cannot stand the shame of defeat. I was honored to cut off his head."
Uijo is the big one with the short hair, right? I have the soundtrack, but not the bonus. Hans Zimmer is quite the genius. I'm excited to hear what he's done for The Dark Knight.

Katsumoto: "I will die by the sword. My own, or my enemy's." Algren: "Then let it be your enemy's."
No, Ujio was the one that trained Algren to fight with a sword and who beat Algren up in the rain and mud. Zimmer is great. His music will make TDK that much better.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
